Rainbow Six Siege: UKIN - Ubisoft Charity Calendar Commission

In 2020, I was approached by Ubisoft to collaborate with Rainbow Six: Siege UKIN and Special Effect charity in creating a calendar that included a piece of art for each month of a well-known figure within the UK scene of Rainbow Six: Siege. I accepted two months and was tasked with drawing June and August which included current G2 Rainbow Six: Siege coach ShaS and an ex-professional coach.

Each piece is drawn in a semi-realism sketch style, took around a week to finish and were eventually released as a physical calendar, which still can be seen (but sold out) on this website:

This is the first piece meant for the month of August, this piece includes an ex-professional coach Rainbow Six: Siege player in the foreground enjoying a summer festival.

Here is an example of my work process with these two pieces, this is the initial sketch/line work of one of the player. I sketched them first.

Next, I created the foreground lanterns and sketched the perspective I wanted to achieve, this perspective was highly challenging but I am extremely satisfied with how it turned out.

Next, I did the details and line art of the background, a summer festival that included many stalls and lots of intricate set pieces. This finishes the line-art as a whole, which I am very happy as a whole with the results.

After the sketch, I added the flat colouring.

Then, I added detail into the night sky which included clouds, stars and deeper shades of blue.

Finally, I rendered both the foreground and background (which can be seen in the final piece) adding the correct lighting and shadows onto his face to add much more realism.

The lanterns (see final post at the top) are incredibly bright and colourful.
